1.2.7.9: Process Roadway Information Data
This process shall implement the presentation of roadway information data to drivers on the roads (surface streets) and highways served by the function. It shall generate the output for dynamic message signs (DMS) and highway advisory radios (HAR). The DMS may be either those that display variable text messages, (e.g., local conditions warning identified by local environmental sensors, variable speed limits, lane controls, roadway warnings) or those that have fixed format display(s) (e.g. vehicle restrictions, or lane open/close). This process shall accept messages to reduce the safe speed for a certain zone and broadcast that reduced speed zone warning. The process shall accept inputs to control the DMS and HAR devices and return operational status (state of the sensor device, configuration, and fault data) to the controlling process.
